Poisson d'avril!
A great hit overall - C stuck fish to @aardnebby.livejournal's back throughout the day, hid them under his pillow, on his computer desk, on the back of his chair... there were twenty altogether and it was lots of fun.
Overall, the day with the children went well, the routine we have seems to be working out well for us, and still allows for some spontaneity.
Had lots of fun chatting with Gaby and Jojo in the morning (the kids love to see their cousins on FaceTime) and Mom and Dad in the afternoon (I think they really enjoy talking to the grandchildren too, and I'm aware that things are tricky for them right now in terms of distance from their own mothers). Not being able to plan or look forward to things is rather tricky in that sense... we're short of "looking forward to". The grief of it, and the knowledge that it might end "at some point" are hard to navigate...
Seb's been itching badly recently, so after a phone consultation with the surgery @aardnebby.livejournal took him in for an appointment. They've prescribed an additional cream (All The Creams! Moist Toddler!)... so yay, the joys of going to pick up medication at the supermarket. And then, I freaked out. Because there were three trolleys full of fresh food being marked down at 2.00pm. And because there was no flour to be had. What with being home and having more time... flour has become a staple more than it usually is (and we usually use it at least twice a week). I could face explaining "we're not baking this now because the eggs won't arrive until Thursday" but "we're not baking because I don't know when we'll next have flour" was... more stress than I could face.
So after I got home, at the point @aardnebby.lj usually takes a 30 minute break in the afternoon so I can play violin, he instead headed off to the Italian deli, which a shopping list. And, bless him, found most of what we wanted, but forgot to look for flour. So we have lovely pizza bases to make pizza with on Saturday night... but for now I don't know what else to do about flour. Plan is to head to the coop we're a part of tomorrow and see if they have any.
Haven given up on starting exercising this week, I'll do that next week. Can't fit everything in :)
