Woke up earlier than usual today and went to the Coop to help out. Traffic was non-existent, even if it was only 6.45 am on a Saturday. They've re-opened slots for volunteers to help them stock shelves and prep the store, as well as take orders in the afternoon. It felt good to be helping, although re-stocking is a pain! You need to rotate the stock and it was interesting to see what was plentiful and what wasn't. They still had lots of flour today, although there was no yeast. Lack of yoghurt was also frustrating since we've completely run out so
after lunch, @aardnebby.lj went out for yoghurt to the local supermark. Poor him, he had to stand in line for 45 minutes... came home feeling frazzled. On the bright side, by them I'd mostly finished my part of cleaning the house, which meant I could be with the children while he finished his. The day did feel a bit more relaxed, and the children have been enjoying the paddling pool again. S enjoyed it so much that he decided to investigate it this morning without actually being in his swimming costume... and then found it hilarious to show me his shoes hanging from the washing line. Had a few tele-conversations with best friend in Paris and with a colleague, which felt nice although conversation with colleague also felt like she was getting frustrated with the situation.
We finished the day with a BBQ - a bit too cool to eat outside, but the smokey flavour of the sausages was welcome, and the aperitif of gin and tonic and potato chips felt soothing after a frazzled week.
